										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Public Service Institute of Nigeria organizes Pre-Retirement and Start- Up training for selected staff of Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and Bayero University Kano. The programme is the 4<sup>th</sup> in the series of FPSEP, initiative of Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF)</p>
<p>The Programme, a sub-initiative of one of the 6 pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025( FCSSIP25) was introduced as an avenue to cater for the welfare of Public Servants, across the country. Some aspect of the FPSEP is expected to create opportunity for those in service to earn extra income, which will automatically enhance their lifestyles and well-being, as well as enable those in service and retiring to cope with life after service, while contributing to the development of other sectors of the economy.</p>

<p>Addressing participants during the opening session, Head Entrepreneurship and Commercial Orientation Department Mrs Ebun Aboje stated that the training is of two components, the theoretical and practical segments.</p>
<p>The programme will run for five days from Monday 12<sup>th</sup> to Friday 16<sup>th  </sup>May 2025 for theoretical and the second aspect, the Hands-on training( Agri-preneurship and Business Start-up) would hold at selected farms and skill acquisition centres from 19<sup>th</sup>  to 30<sup>th</sup>  of May, 2025. Bank of Agriculture, Bank of Industry, Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation and Union Bank are expected to make available loans to interested participants of the programme at the end of the training.</p>
<p>She further said, the training will afford serving Civil Servants to enjoy multiple streams of income through Agriculture and its value chain, as enshrined in the revised Public Service Rules(PSR) and also prepare exiting civil Servants  for better life after Service.</p>
<p>Speaking earlier, the Administrator/Chief Executive officer PSIN, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo mni, commended the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack and the authority of Bayero University Kano for such a laudable initiative and noted that entrepreneurship and commercial orientation is a must have for all Civil Servants and learning a skill is an avenue to create wealth. According to him “if you cannot create wealth, you will be poor”.</p>
<p>He further stated that “the world itself is an enterprise, failure is not an excuse but part of Life, you can get what you want if you believe in yourself, no one is useless, the need to identify ones areas of strength is very key”. He admonished participants to embrace the opportunity, for it is a guaranteed pathway to self-sufficiency while in active Service and outside Service.</p>
<p>He further advised participants to exchange contacts for networking purposes among themselves after the training.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) has trained Directors aspiring for Federal Permanent Secretary position in a one-week intensive training programmes, in preparation for the qualifying examination (written, computer based and oral interview).</p>
<p>Addressing participants during the interactive session of the training, Mr Adesola Olusade and Mrs Anthonia Ekpa(both retired Permanent Secretaries) lauded the management of PSIN for their consistency in high level training delivery which has produced good numbers of serving Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.</p>
<p>They advised participants to take advantage of the training opportunity in achieving success in their examination. They tasked participants to brush up their computer proficiency, be focused, be attentive, pay attention to details of all the training presentations, ask questions and study wide.</p>
<p>Speaking earlier, the Administrator/ Chief Executive Officer Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo mni, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of previous training programmes conducted by the Institute which he said has produced good numbers of serving Permanent Secretaries. He attributed these successes to the high level of professionalism exhibited by the erudite PSIN Faculty members.</p>

<p>Dr. Obatoyinbo recalled that the content of the training manual was tailored in line with the examination syllabus requirements and the need to enhance productivity, skills, and competencies, as well as empower every participant to become Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen-Centered (EPIC).</p>
<p>He advised participants to take advantage of the well-structured training programme with highly experienced resource persons to learn, engage fully in all the training sessions, not only for examination purposes, but also for the purpose of transferring knowledge acquired from the training to their subordinate’s in order to improve job performances in their various Ministries. He further admonished participants to network and establish a robust relationships among themselves for knowledge sharing purposes after the training.</p>

<p>Speaking in Abuja, at take-off of the exercise, the Administrator /Chief Executive Officer PSIN, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo mni, represented by the Director Legal Services PSIN Barrister, Mohammad Danjuma expressed gratitude to INEC authority for believing in the ability of PSIN to credibly    conduct promotion examination for the fourth time consecutively for eligible candidates of the Agency.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The federal government on Thursday 8th of August 2024 held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of 216 housing units of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Estate (FISH) project.</p>
<p>The ceremony, performed at Public Service Institute (PSIN) complex at Kubwa in Abuja, witnessed a foundation laying for the 216 units of two- and three-bedroom flats</p>
<p>Speaking at the event, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, outgoing Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) said the initiative was another milestone of President Bola Tinubu’s led government to provide housing for Nigerians.</p>
<p>Dr. Yemi-Esan said the initiative underscored the importance of staff members’ welfare to improve productivity in public service.</p>
<p>“I am glad that we are here again today for the construction of 216 apartments for the civil servants&#8221;.</p>
<p>“This is another great milestone for the present government. President Tinubu is determined to provide housing for Nigerians and civil servants are not left behind in this initiative,” she said.</p>
<p>She appealed to the civil servants to make good use of the opportunity which had been created specifically for them by the federal government.</p>

<p>The HOS expressed optimism that, when the project is completed, it would ease the accommodation challenges being faced by the civil servants.</p>
<p>In his remark, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo mni, the Administrator/CEO of PSIN, said the ceremony was part of efforts to actualize pillar six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan, 2021-2025.</p>
<p>Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, who commended Dr. Yemi-Esan for her successful service before retirement, said PSIN had benefited tremendously from her initiatives and would remain grateful to her.</p>
<p>“The Institute has benefited tremendously from your intellectuality, experience, skills, and industry insights.</p>
<p>“PSIN will remain grateful to you in the areas of capacity upgrading, curriculum development, digitization agenda, Agri-Preneurship programme, solar powered streetlights, to mention but a few.</p>
<p>“We express our deepest gratitude for your tireless efforts in elevating the profile of PSIN as one of the foremost capacity building institutions in Africa,” he said.</p>
<p>Dr. Yemi-Esan also inaugurated sport facilities comprising basketball, table tennis, handball, gym facilities named after her at the PSIN complex.</p>
