HOUSE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SERVICE MATTERS LAUDS PSIN FOR ITS PROGRESSIVE DEVELOPMENTAL STRIDES

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters Hon. Sani Bala, has applauded the Administrator/Chief Executive Officer Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo mni for the developmental strides he achieved during his first five years in office, which no doubt informed the renewal of his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari for term of five years.

The Chairman made this commendation while on oversight duty to the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, to track the progress so far made, especially in the area of infrastructural development.

Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo in his response expressed appreciation for the level of support the Institute enjoyed from the Committee members.  He solicited for more supports especially in the area of funding to expand on existing structures with the view of generating more revenue to the government.

The Administrator informed the Honourable members that their unalloyed support was instrumental to the renewal of his appointment as well as helped the transformation witnessed in the Institute.

Dr. Obatoyinbo assured that, the Institute is not relenting in the pursuit of its mission of “continuously engaging in modernising Manpower Practice, and Leadership competencies of the Public Servants.

The Administrator further told the Honourable Members that the Institute is working tirelessly to achieve its mandate by providing “competency-based and demand driven training” that will build capacity of Public Servants in the conduct of government business with transparency and accountability in line with the Strategic Implementation Plan and the Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen-Centred (EPIC) culture of the Head of Service.

He noted that a lot still needs to be done in the Institute and solicited for more support in getting additional funding for the Institute.
