PSIN, NSCDC TO PARTNER IN THE AREA OF CAPACITY BUILDING OF PERSONNELS.
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has solicited collaboration with the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) in capacity development.
The Appeal was made when the Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, paid courtesy call on the Administrator /Chief Executive officer, PSIN Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, in Abuja.
The Administrator /Chief Executive Officer PSIN Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo in his welcome address thanked Dr. Ahmed Audi for his contributions to the Institute by providing security support which no doubt has help tremendously in curbing incessant hoodlums infiltration into the Institute.
Dr. Obatoyinbo also commended Dr. Ahmed Audi for his commitment to transforming NSCDC through his various capacity building programmes organized for Men and Officers of the Corp thereby changing the phase of NSCDC under this administration.
He further stated that PSIN remains a world class Institute saddled with the responsibility of building the capacity of Public Servants to improve their performance in their workplaces and empower them to compete with their counterparts globally both in knowledge and excellence and assured him of PSIN commitment to build on the existing collaboration with NSCDC.
Responding, the Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, appreciated the Administrator /CEO and management of the Institute for the welcome. He emphasized that training and manpower development is pivotal to the growth, development and success of any serious organisation, adding that NSCDC will continue to make giant strides in this direction until maximum level of professionalism is attained.
Dr. Audi further hinted that, NSCDC has upgraded its Curriculum to enhance capacity building of personnel in tandem with global best practices. He stressed that an organization without training will experience low productivity. He revealed that NSCDC categorized its training into two sections, the Regimental Training in terms of parade drills and the Capacity Building in terms of workshops, conferences among others.
He concluded that Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps will continue to aim at a robust productivity and enhanced service, ultimately to Nigerians at large.
