PSIN PARTNERS MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ON CAPACITY BUILDING OF STAFF

The Administrator/Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo has called on the Ministry of Defence to support the Institute in its commitment to modernizing public sector governance, management and leadership development through transformational training.

Dr. Obatoyinbo said this during a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana mni, in his office.  He commended him for the good work he has been doing since assumption of office as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and added that the visit was to express appreciation for his support thus far and to solicit more from the Ministry.

He disclosed that, to consolidate on his earlier achievements in the Institute during his first tenure in office as the Administrator CEO PSIN, strategy must change and in doing so, there’s no better place to start than the Ministry of Defence, to showcase best practices where it exists, especially in the area of civil military relations.

Dr. Obatoyinbo pointed out that the Institute’s adjunct faculty members had been beefed up to include some serving Permanent Secretaries. The aim is to have a robust succession plan where seasoned administrators mentor the younger ones who are to take over the mantle of leadership in the nearest future. He reiterated that this in line with the Federal Civil Service Strategic Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) objective of transforming public service into a global force that is Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen-Centered (EPIC).
