Research

The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) advances rigorous, practice-focused research that strengthens the capacity of government institutions and promotes innovative approaches to public sector leadership and service delivery. Guided by a commitment to evidence, impact, and public value, PSIN’s research community explores the most pressing challenges facing Nigeria’s governance landscape, from administrative reform and institutional performance to digital transformation, accountability, and citizen-centered service delivery.

Working through the Planning, Research and Development Department, PSIN engages scholars, practitioners, and policy leaders in generating actionable insights that inform national policy dialogues and operational reforms across the public service. Research outputs are designed not only to deepen understanding of public administration in the Nigerian context but also to shape training curricula, support strategic decision-making, and inspire new models of governmental effectiveness.

By integrating research with policy practice, PSIN serves as a national hub for developing, testing, and scaling ideas that improve governance outcomes. Through publications, policy briefs, pilot interventions, and collaborative studies, the Institute contributes to a growing body of knowledge aimed at building a more professional, responsive, and future-ready public service.
