PSIN TO DRIVE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN OF THE HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita is poised to transform and reposition the civil service, into a “Modern Public Service Organisation that Provides World–Class service for sustainable National Development.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita stated this while addressing participants at the opening ceremony of the meeting of National Public Service Negotiating Councils I, II and III holding at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN).
She said the improvement of welfare and benefits of Civil Servants which the council meetings will deliberate on is an off-shoot of the eight priority areas in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan as approved by the Federal Executive Council.
The Public Service Institute of Nigeria as a Management Development Institution (MDI) under the leadership of Dr. Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, the Administrator and Chief Executive Officer, has been re-positioned and strengthened to drive the implementation of the strategic plan of the Head of Service.
The Federal Civil service Strategy and implementation Plan is hinged on eight priority areas with much emphasis on capacity building, skills improvement and culture change to build a Public Service that is Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen – Centred (EPIC).
With the recent upgrade of the various facilities and update of the brochure, PSIN is set to be a world class centre of excellence that will transform public sector government management and leadership development.
